Chapter Fifty-Six → I have a beat in my life like love in my heart

The next morning, Tyrone headed off to work and left Tommy alone to deal with their new family member. "Hey there little one." He said when he walked into the nursery, seeing the toddler already up and sitting quietly. When she saw Tommy, she stood and reached her little hands up, signaling that she was in fact ready to start her day.

"Lets go get some breakfast." Tommy said to the child who seemed to have a sweet little perpetual pout.

While Tommy's nearly perfect apple pancakes look appetizing on a plate, ground up into baby food they looked like something more akin to mud. Liberty seemed to like it enough though, which was what counted.

"Must you make that racket?" Tyrone asked later in the day while Tommy attempted to upgrade the new stove.

"Sorry, what's wrong?" He asked his husband as the man was walking past with a plate of salad.

"I got a part in a commercial today." Tyrone said, like that was a bad thing.

"That's great honey."

"As the 'before' guy.' The other man finished, giving Tommy a look that said very plainly that 'this was all his fault'. The blonde smirked and just went back to what he was doing, not saying anything because the situation that Tyrone was currently in was in fact his fault. Well, that's what they got for all that shagging.

Tyrone's pouting didn't stop any farther down the road of the pregnancy, although he was less vocal about it because it got boring blaming Tommy when he agreed that it was in fact his fault.

Whee! Toys!

One quiet afternoon, the serenity was broken by a panicked phone call from Tyrone.

Gallstone? Oh! Right, carry on.

Liberty cared very little about the fact that her parents had rushed out, leaving her behind with a horribly dressed babysitter. After all, she had blocks!

Oh look, Trista's pregnant too.
(did anyone else know the paramedic uniform was pregnancy enabled?)

Just as the boys were leaving the hospital with their newborn son Riker, Trista went into labor. Tommy helped by freaking out and not getting in the limo, so Tyrone left him behind.

Tommy eventually did get home, just in time to see Tyrone give Riker his first bottle.

While Tyrone put the infant to bed, Tommy decided to play with Liberty.

The next morning it was back to work for Tyrone, which left Tommy home alone with now two babies. Luckily there was a small cradle set up downstairs so that he didn't have to run up a flight of stairs everytime Riker needed something. And being a newborn, he needed a lot.

He also taught Liberty to walk, talk and use the potty in between dealing with the fussing infant.

There was very few quiet moments, but when there was, Tommy cherished them.

Eventually it was Riker's birthday, there was no party, just the family.

Riker became a toddler, ushering in his birthday by crossing his eyes, like everyone in the family did.

Hey dad, feed me, i need food. Stop staring at me, feed me, fooood. Feed my mouth.

See, Tommy's got the right idea.

Geez, who knew kids were so messy.

Before anyone realized, it was Liberty's birthday. Looked like Tyrone had some shopping to do, hey, how long has Laquita worked at the Consignment Store?

Yay! Birthday!

Hey, Trista, wanna pay attention? Nope, too busy getting your boogie on? Okay, whatever.

Whee! Sparkles!

Polka dots and stripes? You get dressed in Mr. Dressup's tickle trunk?

Gifts are always a good way to end a birthday.

An easel is a great gift... wow, talk about seizure inducing room decor.

Chapter Notes:

God damn that green skin! Who knew it would be the dominant gene, it's driving me nuts! It looks really odd on Riker because he has Tyrone's features yet a light toned skin, and yes i named him after a Star Trek character. There was a TNG book on my desk when he was born, what was i to do, really? But lemme just say, i hate that kid! Omg, he's such a horrible toddler. all he does is scream and throw tantrums, good my ass. He is not living his trait at all, which are Good and Clumsy btw. Liberty's childhood trait is Artistic, and yes she really is suppose to be that colorful and slightly mismatched. I just think it's funny that a future stylist would have such odd style, she's sorta like my games Cyndi Lauper.

  1. I absolutely love Liberty!!!! she's just too adorable and I think the slightly mismatched look goes well with her.

thankfully Riker is not your heir Otherwise you'd never see the end of green kids. Did Trista's kid go green as well?

Her room is...very busy! but so fitting for her.
