Chapter Eight - You've got every right to a beautiful life

The next morning brought with it, not only the girl's graduation, but the arrival of Suzanna, who was more than happy to be home again.

"Aw mom! Don't cry." She said with a giggle when Kinsley broke down, hugging her daughter. "You're getting me soggy." The girl teased.

Suzanna readjusted to being home without any trouble, within minutes she back in the backyard, building sandcastles. She would have stayed there all day had her parents not called her in for lunch and to get dressed, because it was time for the graduation.

"Michelle, don't busk on the steps of city hall." Kinsley chastised. "Cherie take that away from her." She motioned to her wife to take the girl's mandolin away. "Katharine, where'd you get that book?" Kinsley sighed, going to take the book off of the other girl. "Suzanna don't sit on the ground in your dress, and where's your brother, it's about to start?"

Turned out there was a very good reason for Zane not being at his sister's graduation, seemed one of them had left the stove on in the rush to get ready and a fire had broken out. He was the last to leave and thankfully too, had be left with his parents, their entire house would have burnt to the ground. Missing Michelle and Katharine's graduation was a small price to pay if it meant keeping them from being homeless, although he had to admit, he did regret missing out on seeing Katharine get voted 'most likely to never leave her house'. According to his little sister, Katharine was not impressed with that vote at all. Michelle was Valedictorian and vote most like to become a rock star, which just made the russet haired beauty snicker, cause she was more into the producing of music than the playing of it.

Within a week of graduation both Katharine and Michelle had jobs, as a painter and in the music career, respectively. And they soon moved out, leaving the house just slightly quieter than normal.

Okay, so not all that quiet, given that Zane had taken up chemistry and found himself blown up more than once.

He was apparently prompted to do so when he bumped into air, only to be told by his little sister that it had been patches. The boy started watching the younger girl closely, noticing not only did she interact with air like Katharine had, but the air seemed to interact back with her. It made him wonder about poor Fluffs, buried out in the sandbox.

He took to reading up on as much science as he could, as well as anything sci-fi or magical, he was determined to find out if these 'Imaginary Friends' were more than a child's mind running wild.

Meanwhile, both Cherie and Kinsley still worked long hours, not that they needed to anymore really. Cherie was at the top of her career track, and while Kinsley still had slightly farther to go before she could call herself the best, she still pulled in a good amount of money and still looked bitchin' in a trench coat.

Even the poor Gnomes were getting older and pretty soon there were a few missing Gnome faces in the yard, Kinsley had to admit, she missed those little guys.

Suzanna was doing well in school, performing in a ballet recital and getting a trophy for doing so. She happily displayed it up on her shelf with her Barbies.

The next morning during an afternoon tea party with Telly Monster, she was surprised to see Fluffs about, she could have sworn Zane had buried her in the sandbox. Fluffs was kinda scary, not like Patches, Suzanna didn't like her. But luckily soon enough she was distracted when Cherie came home with a surprise for her.

The tree house was the bestest thing ever!! She spent every weekend in her and most of her mornings before school as well, she liked to fight off pirates.

Admittedly, her parents were surprised at how realistic those pirate battles could be.

Meanwhile, Zane was going through a rebellious phase, which prompted him to egg his neighbor's house. Bella Bachelor-Bunch wasn't happy, yelling for her wife Lisa to call the cops.

"No, seriously Kat, i'm not shitting you! I swear, i can't talk. Yes, yes, cops, right across the street. Oh shut up, getting arrested across the street from my own house is not the lamest thing that i could ever do."

Cherie was not impressed when one of the underlings at the station knocked on the door with her son in tow, she would have giving him a good slap had she been the kind of parent to do such a thing.

Zane was extremely lucky she wasn't the slapping kind, although he was grounded for the weekend, which kinda sucked cause prom was Monday and he was planning on going with his friend Elisa, so hopefully he would be off the hook by then.

Even the Gnomes were having issues with their teen, seemed like, little mister teen gnome was feeling a little emo that morning.

Saturday morning brought with it Suzanna's birthday, ever the deep thinking, she pondered on her wish before blowing out the candles.

She didn't tell what her wish was, but the small smirk on her face gave off the feeling that it might have been fulfilled already.

Later on the evening, Cherie walked into the master bedroom to find Kinsley flopped on the bed, looking pensive. "What's that look for?"

"Just thinking."

"Uh-oh, that's never good." Cherie teased as she sat on the bed next to her wife, leaning back and placing an arm around the slightly older woman.

"They're not babies anymore." Kinsley said, looking at Cherie as she laced their fingers together.

"Nope."

"Everyone's getting so old, pretty soon Zane'll graduate too and before we know it all the kids will be grown."

"It's what happens, time moves, people age and leave."

"I'm not ready to be this old." Kinsley admitted.

"You'll never be old."

"I'm older than you."

"By like four days." Cherie laughed, resting her head against her lovers.

"You and me kid." Cherie said, smiling softly as her wife closed her eyes, content for the moment. "We'll always be together."

Chapter Notes:

They're getting old!! Nooooo! Lol, okay, done now. You would no believe how odd Kinsley looks as an elder, she aged up last night and my god! She's still pretty, but still, hard to believe how quickly they've all aged. Could be because i've never played with the age set to 'normal', or well, 100 days, i added the extra ten because i have an OCD thing with leaving numbers odd, i'm weird, i know lol. Anyway, i've never really had any sims reach elder due to age being turned to epic, them being vampires or me turning the aging off entirely lol.

Okay, so some issues came up with my game during this chapter. None of it has anything to do with the new story progression mod, i love it, really, it's epic, it made Bella a lesbian lol, that's just funny to me. She's also the Slayer, cause i added Twallan's extra personalities, and it's just funny to have someone named Bella a vampire Slayer cause of the Twilight insanity that thankfully i was too old to be taken in by lol.

Anyway, yes, issues. Moving the girl's out, first i did that 'kicking out' option for Katharine, which sucked cause she then left all her shit behind, even though it was all in her personal inventory at the time. Had Cherie call her over and 'gift' everything back, but turns out only like 4 things actually passed characters, the rest was lost to the void i guess. Also, her high school diploma wasn't giftable, so Cherie has an extra one she can't get rid of. So i said, screw it and had the girl's buy Michelle a house (way shittier than the one Katharine was put in, seriously, her's is epic), were down like 20 grand, but then i got pop ups from the SP telling me that they (the girl's) were going into debt because they moved out with zero cash. Fiddled around for a bit until i figured out how to give them a starting allowance of a thousand bucks, which was all fine an dandy but then realized Michelle was in an unfurnished house. So, i bit the bullet and switched over to her to buy her a bed and a toilet and so on, when i got back to Kinsley and company, all of her cases were gone!!! Seriously, she had solved 29 out of 35 but now she's down to 0 out of 35! I was uber pissed. She just made level ten & maxed the logic skill, which made her the top of her field but now all her cases were gone, so her LTW might not get done and dammit i don't care, cause i will count her next 6 as her last six and call it done, bam, perfect career. Cherie's been maxed out at level ten for her career stuff for a while now, so by the next update, Generation One is pretty much done, Kinsley's LTW be dammed *grumble*.

Also, since honestly, i'm still new at the use of Twallan's Master Controller, i only used it for like 5 things before now lol. Does anyone know if there's a way to use it to make a sim controllable without having to switch households or add it to the active family? Like, just for a second so you can make 'em go somewhere or change their fricking clothes or something?

Suzanna's fourth trait is Natural Cook.

  1. You can change their clothes by NRAS - > Master Controller -> Stylist (Very bottom).

    ... I think.

I really love your legacy. Yeah, the first two generations are the hardest to watch die. Actually... it never gets easier. Sorry. Hugs?

  2. I know that i can change they're clothes that way, i meant to make them switch from everyday clothes to formal clothes. Cause i can style the whole town if i want too, i usually do actually, but it's pointless if they never change out of their casual wear. I've had more teens with horrible prom pictures because their stupid dates refuse to spin into their formal wear before going to the dance.

  3. Luckily I haven't reached that point in my legacy yet, it's so sad to lose them. I just have to keep remembering that the story is moving FORWARD, can't stay in the past! =)

I'm glad Suzanna came back, as she is the heir, yes? It would be strange if she was gone the whole time, it would be like a stranger coming back to take over the story.

I wish I could help on the clothes thing, all I can think of is when you see them, use MC to make their everyday clothes look formal?

  4. Zane's actually the heir, but Suzanna's so adorable i kinda wish i could continue on with her once she's a YA and i send her out into the world.

Yeah, i figured if they weren't gonna change their clothes, i'd just change their everyday to look like formal wear. I mostly wish i could sometimes just have them become active and under my control, sorta like how you can shift-click sims in Medieval, if you have it that is lol. They're under your control, you can make 'em do something and then shift-click to 'set them free' as it were. The whole 'add to active family' to make them controllable is annoying because there's the whole meshing of inventories and then having to kick 'em out and they become homeless and broke, it makes me go 'arg!' at the screen a lot lol.
