Chapter Six → You turned around & gave me one last touch that made everything feel better

WARNING: There is *gasp* a naked sim boobie in this chapter, buyers beware.... or something like that.

The weeks following her birthday Kinsley found herself looking in the mirror more and more and not liking what she saw, wrinkles, life lines and worst of all, grey hairs! That would just not do, so after debating it long enough, one Saturday afternoon, with a quick 'i'm going out!' to the family, the woman hurried off to the one place that normally she wouldn't be caught dead at, the salon.

"Now, don't do anything drastic, or maybe totally drastic. No, no, less drastic is better, right? Uh... erm, where's everyone going?"

When she came home with her hair cut extremely short with chin length bangs framing her face, it surprised everyone. "Wow." Cherie said, stunned into silence at the sight of her wife with short hair that for once wasn't due to a hair clip holding it back. Kinsley had always had long hair, for as long as Cherie had known her, which was for a really, really long time.

"I cut it." Kinsley said, stating the obvious.

"I see this." Cherie said with a nod, staring at her wife's hair.

"Is it horrible?"

Cherie smiled a kind little smile, she could see that Kinsley was going through a crisis of faith, of life, of everything. "It's beautiful." She assured the other woman.

"Promise?" Kinsley asked, smiling.

"Cross my heart."

Meanwhile, the girl's were feeling a little rebellious. Or, well, Michelle was, Katharine was too busy clapping at air. "What the hell are you doing?" The russet haired teen asked her sister as she climbed down from the top bunk of their beds.

"It's Bobo's birthday." Katharine said with a grin, smiling happily and clapping for her extremely invisible friend.

"Kat, you gotta stop talking about that bloody doll like it's real or they're gonna lock you up and throw away the key."

"They, who?"

"Me!" She said with a little roll of her eyes before pausing when she heard the shout from downstairs, giggling.

"What'd you do this time?" Katharine asked, hand on her hip.

"Nothing." Michelle said, looking as innocent as possible.

"One of you is dead! I don't care which one of you, but, you're both dead! That's it!"

Upstairs Michelle laughed as Katharine gave her a shove. "Thanks a lot." She muttered although couldn't hide the small amused smirk that graced her lips.

Thankfully the hair dye wasn't permanent so after a few washes Cherie was right back to her normal blonde color, which was good because no sooner than she was back to normal than she was going into labor. "You're gonna be a big boy soon aren't you...." Cherie paused when she suddenly felt very pronounced stabbing pains in her abdomen. "Zane." She said, putting the toddler down in the floor carefully and sitting on the edge of the bed. "Go get mama, tell her mommy needs her, Important, big emergency." She said to the boy who did as he was told, toddling out to Kinsley babbling about a "'Ig mergency". Now you don't raise two kids well into their teens without learning how to speak 'baby' fluently, so Kinsley knew to rush to Cherie's side and they were quickly on their way to the hospital, yet again. Although Cherie was in a lot of pain and more than a little nervous now that she was in the drivers seat, as it were. Kinsley couldn't help but feel slightly happy that it wasn't her, again.

While their parents were away the teens stayed in and watched their baby brother, or well, Katharine did. Michelle had more important things to do, like releasing the lab frogs in the school hallways. Oh sure it was funny, but Katharine knew that Michelle only risked a juvie record to get outta changing diapers, the big chicken.

All three children were in bed by the time Kinsley and Cherie got home, bringing along with them Suzanna. Cherie was still slightly conked out from the meds, but as Kinsley crawled into bed next to her she could have sworn she heard Cherie mutter 'no more' in her sleep. The brunette chuckle, placing a chaste kiss on her lovers cheek. "No more." She agreed.

The weeks and months dragged on and somewhere in between it all Cherie managed to become an spy for the highest level of government, which was kind of odd actually, having an international spy living in the house. The small house that with her new cheques was slowly being renovated again, but it was needed, and this time the labor was not found in a parking lot. Michelle found her love of music and soon started hanging out with the musical crowd in school, taking up the mandolin of all things. She also wanted to learn the bass, but knew those were expensive. So when her sister jokingly asked what she was going to do, make a wash tub basin bass like in the old movies? Michelle saw that as a challenge, one that she was willing to accept.

"You owe me ten bucks." She said to Katharine one morning while showing off the working bass she made, the girl's having gone so far as to bet on it.

"Shut up." The other girl said sullenly.

Although Katharine wasn't without her own artistic feats, she loved painting and soon took up writing as well. But with new friends and skills and clubs there were also other things on the horizon, like blossoming romances. Katharine was asked to prom by a classmate the day the dance was announce, she was obviously excited.

Michelle took a more direct approach, asking one of her classmates to prom the night before it was scheduled. Typical of her to leave things to the last minute.

Meanwhile, Kinsley had gone through another bout of age related self loathing which prompted her to get her hair dyed, a deep red wine color. She still wasn't sure about it even though it covered any grey that had been peeking, she spent a lot of time looking in the mirror.

The day of prom was a busy one to say the least, given that it was both Zane and Suzanna's birthday, not to mention Cherie's, the kids all silently hoped she didn't go as insane as Kinsley did.

Suzanna was unimpressed with the festivities.

Although she did want to attempt to fit Patches' entire head in her mouth, she didn't succeed.

Zane thought all his sister's were insane and he just wanted a piece of cake.

Minutes after the cake was eaten the girl's prom dates arrived, both of them had graduated slightly ahead of Katharine and Michelle, but both still went along to the dance none the less. Nether one of the mothers seemed to mind that their dates were older than they were.

While the prom went on, Cherie celebrated her birthday, albeit a little quieter than the children had.

Both girl's had a great time at the prom, Katharine winning prom queen. Admittedly Michelle was a little jealous at first, but when she saw how happy her sister was, she let the girl have her moment, deciding not to be a brat and ruin it.

Both girl's didn't get home until well past curfew, but their parents didn't give them too much of a hard time, mostly because they were both already asleep when the girl's got home.

As the girl's slept off their night before, Zane spent the next morning exploring the murky depths of the bathtub. He was sad to report that there was no spotting of Nessie, nor where there any shark attacks, bummer.

A bathtub shark attack would have been less of a surprise when he was met with a very alive Fluffs later on  that morning, Fluffs was annoying, talked to herself a lot and set pranks on everything in the house that he got in trouble for. It was then that Zane decided, Fluffs had to go!

But where to put her? She followed him everywhere, even into the bathroom! He pondered his problem as he took out some of his little boy aggression on some stand art he had made earlier in the week.

Just as he was lording over the now bare sandbox, all lordy, in his lording ways, Lord Zane was suddenly struck with an idea.

Hehehe! Goodbye Fluffs!

Chapter Notes:

I had enough caps to do another chapter so i did, not as much 'live' speech writing here as there was narrative, but this chapter was really more about getting from point A to point B. Zane's cute, he's growing on me, i like him well enough. Oh and an FYI, while you can in fact bury stuff in the standbox and never get it back, like toys, rocks, homework, the IF's WILL dig their frigging way out and chase your sim. Looks like it's time for me to put that 'less chance' for them mod into the game, cause i really hate those things. They're annoying enough as it is, but Fluffs obviously has the insane trait and might be evil, cause it's constantly setting pranks all over the damn house.

Suzanna's traits are Clumsy and Heavy Sleeper and her favorite color is purple.

  1. Seriously, I'm about to download the one that's either less likely or not likely at all. The newness has worn off and I end up sticking their dolls in their Owner's inventories. Zane grew up into a little cutie though. Love the Teen's prom pics.

Hey, next time you're on, think you could link me to some camera hacks.

  2. I actually have a link list to all my mods and hacks on my other blog, the one with Ginger on it. The camera hacks are there if you can't wait until i sign on again, although i need to update it with a couple new mods i use. Just started using Twallan's Story Progression so that the town didn't die out as i only play one family, it's cool, i like it. Of course it was annoying at first, but once i tuned it to only show me story updates & stats about blood relatives and friends it became less annoying lol.
