Chapter One → Maybe together we can get somewhere

Kinsley and Cherie had known each other since they were nine years old, in fact Kinsley could remember the exact moment she had seen Cherie, fourth grade, dressed in black from head to toe, long blonde hair. Not much had changed, well, expect for the black, turns out there had been a memorial Kinsley's first day at her new school, hence the black. But Cherie still held Kinsley's gaze, nearly all the time. It was your typical school romance, best friends from moment one, telling each other everything. Once puberty hit though, the awkward stage arrived with a vengeance, pushing them in opposite directions. Kinsley was bookish, sort of mousy with a dry wit and a loose moral code. Cherie was the center of attention, athletic and outgoing, always flirty and pushy, a social butterfly. It wasn't until the were about to graduate that they shared their first kiss, on a whim, a dare that had been given at a party they both happened to be at. Cherie having thrown it and Kinsley having been dragged to it by a mutual friend. The kiss lit a fire within them that was hard to squash and honestly, neither of them wanted too. After graduating, on yet another whim (aka Cherie's idea) they ran off together and after a quick and dirty wedding, done by a fabulous Elvis impersonator, they were married. They skipped town and ended up in Sunset Valley with nothing more than six grand in their pockets and a lot of hope.... and so we begin.....

"It's a nice place." Kinsley said as she walked through their teeny tiny house, but it was cheap and that was what they needed right then, nothing else.

"Could use a TV." Cherie said, staring longingly at the area where a television would be.

"We can live without a tv for a bit." Kinsley said only to be met with a little whine, the brunette chuckling. "You will survive, besides, it's nice."

"And haunted."

"....Yeah." Kinsley stared off to the side, well, why else would it be so cheap?

"This is weird." Cherie said as she stared down into her open book, trying not to look at the glowing red ghost of a long past vampire sitting next to Kinsley, staring at her neck.

"We could always switch seats." Kinsley deadpanned.

"I'm good."

"Me too." The specter smirked.

"Wasn't someone suppose to help us with this?" Cherie whispered.

"Yeah, where'd he get to?"

Ah well, we find the ghostbusting man doing less busting and more thinking about stuffing his face, typical.

"Yeah, and on that note, i'm heading out, be back soon." Cherie said to her new wife with a quick kiss goodbye before hoping on her bike and heading into town.

Cherie did a quick run to the bookstore but could barely contain her disgust at the price inflation in the place, twelve hundred dollars for two books!? It was insane, she paid less to get married. With a little 'hmp!' she headed out of the shop, annoyed, she needed something to work off the anger, something free.

It was then that she spotted the Gym, she loved working out and going for a quick run on the treadmill was sure to burn off her annoyance.

Back at the house, Kinsley went about clipping coupons as one of their house guests helped himself to the contents of the fridge. Which begged the question, why the hell did a ghost need to eat in the first place, especially a vampiric one? It just was more of a reason for her not to touch the waffles in the fridge.

"These are good." The old specter said around a mouthful of food.

"Hmmm." Was all Kinsley responded.

"You make 'em?"

"No, one you the other.... undead living Americans did."

"Child, you're too PC for your own good."

It was well past eleven when Cherie stumbled in, reeking of more than just sweat.

"You're drunk." Kinsley said, not looking up from her book.

"I am drunk." Cherie nodded.

"You went to a bar?"

"Gym."

"Gym's don't have bars, well, juice bars, but still."

"One of the guys there showed off some of his snazzy skills after the place closed, turns out he's a tender at a club."

Kinsley just shook her head fondly as the other woman flopped onto the bed next to her. "Remind me again why i keep you around?"

"Because i look good in a skirt." Cherie replied, sounding extremely sure of herself.

"Oh really?" Kinsley arched her eyebrow at the blonde, challenging yet flirty.

"Yeah, and i'll prove it too." Cherie said with a smirk as she pushed Kinsley over, both giggling as Cherie leaned over her. It was late and they were both exhausted from the move, yet Cherie still did in fact remind Kinsley exactly why she kept her around.

That night as they slept, Cherie curled around Kinsley as she usually did, the darker haired woman dreamt of bright things to come, feeling positive that they would in fact, make it.

The next morning came far too early for either of their liking, especially for poor hung over Cherie who was barely able to keep her head from falling into her plate of waffles, where'd those come from anyway?

Kinsley was a tad brighter than Cherie was that morning, and did the laundry with little complaint. Of course the fact that the washing machine was in their bedroom was slightly annoying, it only got even more so when it turned out that they were sold an old beater. "I'm gonna kill that bastard!" Kinsley shouted as she fought with the machine, trying to keep it from shaking halfway across the room, tossing out many dirty words about the man at the second hand store who sold them the 'in great shape' washing machine. Yeah, great shape it they were looking for a blender. Cherie kept to the living room, pretending she couldn't hear the attack of the deranged washer, wishing to any deity listening that her headache would go away.

Of course as punishment for not helping to tame the washer, Kinsley left the flooded bedroom for Cherie to clean as she had her own breakfast of cereal since she still refused to touch the ghost waffles.

Of course as it turned out the cereal didn't agree with her either, should have just eaten the waffles, Cherie did and she seemed to be fine, besides hungover that of course.

"You and your coupon clipping." Cherie tsked with a little smile as she read, normally she wasn't that much of a bookworm but since there was no tv or stereo, what else was there to do?

"Bite me." Kinsley said in a little sing song voice, ignoring the new wave of nausea that had hit her.

"Maybe later." Cherie said with a wink as Kinsley got up. "Where ya going?"

"I'm gonna take care of our ghost problem, you applying for jobs today?"

"Yep, it's S.O.P Sarge." Cherie teased as Kinsley headed out.

Who knew JC Penny made jeans that one could fit three large standing headstones into the back pocket of so comfortably, must be from their new TARDIS line of clothing.

After dropping the tombstones off at the local cemetery, Kinsley headed to the local library to use their computers, she really missed having a computer, but she had to hawk her macbook when she and Cherie had run off. Besides, a computer was kinda useless if they were homeless.

She surfed around a bit and found a posting for a P.I, okay, so she was no private eye, but she could hack like a S.O.B and looked great in a trench coat. Without much real thought she answered the add and voila, she was no longer jobless.

Halfway through Kinsley's first case she got a phone call from an extremely excited Cherie. "I did it!" The blonde squealed into the phone.

"Did what?" Kinsley asked, holding the phone away from her ear slightly until her wife calmed down a bit.

"I applied at the police office and they took me on."

"You're a cop!?" Kinsley asked, disbelieving. Sure, Cherie was brave and athletic and smart, but there had to be other qualifiers, right?

"Oh please, no, i shuffle papers around at a desk all day and make coffee, But i could be a cop, one day. Imagine, me, all James Bond."

"James Bond was hardly a 'cop'." Kinsley chuckled.

"Whatever, i'm making dinner, be back soon?"

"On my way."

When Kinsley got home she stopped by the mail to pay the few bills they had, it was hardly anything, not even a hundred dollars, but it was enough to leave a hole in their wallet. She could barely force herself to sign the cheque for eighty-nine dollars.

Dinner, as it turned out, was organic salad. Great if you were a rabbit, not so great for a woman who spent all day running around. "You know this organic living, it's expensive." Kinsley said to the, so eco-friendly it almost hurt, Cherie.

"Not if i grow it myself, i was thinking of starting a garden."

"You're gonna be a farming James Bond? Old McBond?"

Cherie laughed. "Shut up, come see where i wanna put it." She paused at her wife's dirty look. "The garden, you lech." She teased, grabbing Kinsley's arm and dragging her around the back of the house to see where she wanted to start growing their own food.

"I think an apple tree right here would be nice." Cherie commented as they leaned back on the grass, staring up at the night sky. "Could make apple pancakes and pies and stuff." She paused, noticing Kinsley staring at her. "What?"

"Nothing, just thinking about how much i love you." She smiled, Cherie smiling back as they lapsed into a comfortable silence, the crickets chirping their night song in the darkness of the backyard.

"We're gonna be okay." Cherie sighed.

"We are." Kinsley agreed.

Chapter Notes:
Okay, so to recap, couple, need to have four kids, Cherie's in a Law Enforcement career track, Kinsley is a Private Eye, she makes more than Cherie, which i find funny. Had an annoying glitch with the ghostbusting guy at the start, showed up to help with the ghosts then just stood there, thinking random thoughts. All. Day. Long! I had to reset him, nearly moved them to a new place because the lot seemed to be glitched at first. Couldn't move any of the random plants in the yard, said they were all 'in use', had to delete them with testingcheats. I would have kept the ghosts around but there were three of 'em and the house is teeny, although i am working on expanding it.

Funny thing, Cherie really did get drunk at the juice bar at the gym, i use a mod that allows them to actually drink, what a concept! But apparently it works on all bars, not just the professional ones lol. So far i'm really enjoying the challenge of playing the game without cheats and such, it's painstakingly long, which will test my attention span no doubt, really, a gnat! I have the attention span of a gnat..... oh bunny!

Cherie's stats are: Eco Friendly, Loves the Outdoors, Athletic, Brave and Daredevil. Her LTW is International Super Spy

Kinsley's stats are: Bookworm, Frugal, Kleptomaniac, Nurturing and Perceptive. Her LTW is Pervasive Private Eye

  1. Great start! I love Kinsley and Cherie (Kinsley is such a great name, too). I'm looking forward to your next chapter and seeing how they get on.
I've always wanted to get that haunted house opportunity, but it sucks if your 'help' is a drooling idiot, lol.
Four children in the first generation is a tough roll, especially if you haven't played legacy style before, so I wish you much luck.
    (I'm calisims on MTS, btw)

  2. I really like this too, I'll be following :)
Yeah, sometimes the 'help' is useless. If you've read my legacy, Ned was the help, but instead of helping clearing out the meteor ashes, they went on a date XD
My sister's a happily married lesbian with one child (we live in Canada), so I love seeing this couple :) I might have one gay/lesbian couple in my legacy, but not until later.
I hope you adopt at least once this generation, I love adopted children.
(I'm ebec17 on MTS btw, not too different from this username besides the number)

  3. Yay, this is fun and interesting! 8D

I definitely had the ghost problem during my first try at a legacy, before my game glitched all over the place. OTL Except my Sim too tried to go on a date with the guy who helped out, and that part sort of failed.

Anyway, I'm excited to see where this one goes. 8D Especially with that many kids. It ought to be super hectic and awesome.

    I'm AlmaDelCore20 on MTS, btw. >w<

  4. Thanks for the comments guys ^^ It's always nice to know that what i post actually gets read.

@yangthecat Yeah, four kids is a tough one, especially with such a small house, but i like the pregnant sims so i'll enjoy it none the less. And thanks, i liked the name too.

@ebec11 Ah, a fellow Canadian ^^ I read your legacy, Ned's adorable, i love that he was the 'help'. Ended up helping with more than just the ashes ;) lol.

@Alma I'm excited to see where this heads as well, four kids in that tiny house will no doubt drive me bonkers ^^

  5. I have "Old McBondall" stuck in my head now. Thanks for that.

I just adore your starting generation. Kinsley and Cherie are beautiful girls with beautiful names.

I'm Canadian too! I live near Gastown, BC so honestly, half the population over here is LGBT. Myself included. Its nice to see it in a legacy story without it just being the story of a non-heir (Like I did).

    Can't wait to read more.
