Chapter Forty-Four → We're only taking turns, holding this world. It's how it's always been, when you're older, you will understand

"So, what are you going to do after graduation?" Arthur asked his sister the night of the senior prom, which that had just returned from.

"I dunno, why, what are you going to do?"

"Marry Mark and have lots and lots of babies." Arthur grinned.

"How dishearteningly atrocious." Aurora said.

"SAT's are over Aurora."

"And you're still jealous of my score." She said in a 'so there' kind of way.

Arthur pursed his lips and arched an eyebrow. "You used a double negative." He pointed out.

"I ain't gots no idea whats you talkin' about." The blonde said in pointedly bad English.

"Oh Shakespeare is just whirling in his grave for the likes of you." Arthur quipped, but before his sister could piped up with another retort, the sound of toddler garble could be heard followed by a giggle.

The two looked over into the living room area to see Tommy sitting on the floor, playing with his dolls and a toy medical kit. The teens lapsed into a momentary silence, watching the boy play. "It's just different now." Aurora said softly to her brother, although she was still looking at her nephew. "The idea of having a family, ya know?"

"Yeah." Arthur nodded. "I know." What had happened to Audra had affected them all, shaken not just her world but the entire family's world.

The next morning, as Audra spent some time with her guitar, Jarvis and Tamara decided they needed out of the house.

So the two packed up the tots and went to the park, that admittedly was next door, but it was still farther than their living room that was for sure.

Tommy and Trista enjoyed their afternoon with their grandparents, being doted on and played with was the best!

The sun was just starting to set when they headed home.

Mostly because they needed to be there to meet Arthur and Aurora when they got home from their last day of school, they made it just in time, meeting the teenaged boy as he was heading up the front steps.

Inside, a small party was held, Audra being the only one not in attendance due to the fact that she worked nights.

First was Aurora to age up.

Then was Arthur's turn.

The next morning dawned bright and early and brought with it, the twin's birthday. It seemed that the family had a long held tradition of sharing birthdays even when not a twin. According to Tamara, it went all the way back to their great aunts decades and decades ago, who shared a birthday even though one was adopted.

First was Tommy, who was not impressed with all the hooting and hollering so damn early in the morning.

Next was Trista, who took after her aunt and grandmother and insisted on stand in the damn table.
(i'm seriously so close to getting rid of that table even though i love it because people walk through the whole left side!!)

The twins soon took to the block table, content to ignore the adults for the rest of the day. Which was good, since they were all busy helping Aurora pack up, since the girl was moving out that afternoon.

Later that evening, Arthur went over to call on Mark, interrupting the man in the middle of making dinner. But he had a burning question that just had to be asked.

Thankfully, Mark's answer was yes and Arthur moved in right away.

Life went on normally after that, or as normally as a family of half fay, half vampire, all crazy, could be. Tommy picked up his mother's tendency to prefer to make his own food oppose to the food other's serve him.

Trista was a bit of a couch potato, so getting her to play usually took a bit of prodding, unless said playing could be done on the couch.

While Tommy made friends of the boy down the street, Tyrone, who was odd, with his soft spoken tone yet flamboyant attitude.

Trista ignored the world of reality and went searching for a dog-topus (half dog, half octopus) in every bathtub in the house. It was under water man's best friend, she's sad to report that she never found one.

There was also times when make believe took over and they played together for hours on end, between school and homework of course.

Now if only Audra would start paying some attention to them, or to anyone really.
(omg, she's finally in clothes! Not pajamas or karate outfits)

Okay, so jamming in the front yard with Jarvis for her uncle Michael was a start, a lame one, but a start none the less.

Chapter Notes:

Scattered narrative is scattered, i blame the fact that i am seeing doubles right now for that. No worries, i'm off to bed after this. Okay, so lets see. Arthur's last trait is Charismatic, Aurora's is Athletic. Tommy's third trait is Virtuoso and Trista's is Couch Potato, which i randomly rolled, the kid never gets off the sofa! Omg, she drives me nuts. Also, Tommy is the first kid i've had to get an IF at birth and never play with it ONCE! Not once! It's never been out of his inventory, way weird.

Mark and Arthur got married right away and started a family, too cute, although omg, what they did to Mark when he aged up was horrible! I have picture evidence, eek!!

Also, i've rolled for Generation Five, i got Couple, two kids, Busker for my heir's career and film star for his spouse. Gen goal is The Opportunist, ugh -_- and extra fun is homemade, which as you can see, Tommy has already gotten a head start on, since bitch is gonna have to cook like a mad man.

And yes, that is the 3rd Fray song i've used for the title in a row, i've been on a Fray kick lately, just found their cd's again when i was cleaning up my desk, love 'em!

  1. So many birthdays!!

Also, regarding the table, is it possible to put something under it (a coffee/side table) then turn it invisible so that the path there is blocked? There's a mod out there that will turn any object invisible (though I haven't used it): http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=406614

Sorry for spamming your post - great chapter! I'm glad Audra is getting out of the house (if only to the front walkway).
