Chapter Forty → You're broken and beautiful and you're so damn cynical

!WARNING! Danger Will Robinson!!
The following chapter will deal with the concept of being 'Roofied' that is, unknowingly slipped a drug commonly known as the 'date rape' drug. You have been warned, proceed at your own risk.

"Can't you do your homework in your own room?" Audra asked her sister with a little huff, her back turned to her purposely.

"I could, but Arthur's preening in there and it's gross and all self centered."

"Heh, i thought only Andrew was self centered."

"He is, he's just more honest about it." Aurora said.

Audra sighed. "What do you want?"

"What makes you think i want something?"

"You guys always want something and always send you in to do the talking."

"Damn, we're that transparent?" Aurora asked as she erased something from her workbook.

"Yes, now what?"....

"So?" Aurora prompted the next morning before school.

"So, what?"

"Are you in or what? I gotta tell Andrew."

"You're not one of his bitches, you know."

"And the government isn't actually reading your brainwaves, you're point being, miss obvious?" Aurora snarked.

Audra rolled her eyes and sighed but couldn't answer her sister because just then Andrew walked up and took her seat, the girl moving to a different one.

"Well?" He asked, looking around at his siblings, making sure to allow his glare to linger on Audra momentarily.

"I'm in." Alaura agreed instantly.

"Me too."

"Ditto." Arthur piped up after his twin did.

"Audra?" Andrew asked.

"I'm going to be late for school." The girl said as she got up and left the table.

As it turned out, not giving her siblings an answer wasn't enough of a reason to them to drop their harebrained scheme. They bugged her all day at school and the second they were all sat down at the table to do their homework, they were on her again. "Come on Audra, be cool for once." Alaura hissed softly, since their farther was only a few feet from them.

"Fine!" Audra whispered angrily, shaking her head. "Fine, have your damn party, Jesus!"

"Yes!" Alaura cheered softly before giving Audra a kick under the table. "Also, shut up, god, blabber mouth." She said, glancing at Jarvis, Audra just sighing and shaking her head, she just couldn't win with them.

The next day at school, news of the Li sibling's parentless house party spread like wild fire, it was all anyone over the age of fourteen could talk about.

That afternoon when Andrew and Alaura got home, they were pleased to find the house was in fact empty. Tamara and Jarvis had gone for the weekend, leaving the five teens to fend for themselves and boy did they fend all right. "Alaura, forget the stupid flamingo!" He called out to his sister who was in a mood and felt like taking out her anger on the lawn ornaments.

"Okay, you get the shit outta our room and i'll call Darryl, he's bringing the booze." Andrew told his sister.

"How exactly did he get it again?"

"I dunno, point is he got it, lets go."

By the time Audra and her two slightly younger siblings arrived home from their after school clubs, the party was set up, kids were already there, the drinks were flowing and it wasn't even five o'clock yet! "We're gonna be in so much trouble." She said to herself as she looked around at the state of the house.

(Much like my case of picture fail at Zane's epic bachelor party, there was picture fail at this party too. It's my own fault, i got too busy with the five kids running around with the twelve other teens and making them all do stuff that i forgot to start screencaping until i got back into the plot part of the pictures)

It was mid evening when someone finally spoke to Audra besides to ridicule her. "Here." Darryl handed her a clear drink of some kind. "You look like you need to loosen up a bit."

"Why does everyone think that!?" Audra snapped at the older boy.

Darryl smiled brightly, holding a hand up in surrender. "Hey, man, nothing against ya. It's just, it's a killer party and you've been reading in the corner. I mean, i know you're a loner and everything, but when your uber shy brother is shaking a tail feather and you still aren't, well, that just screams 'loosen up!'"

Audra pursed her lips at him before looking down at the glass.

"Just a little liquid bravery." He smiled a knee weakening smile at her as he shook the glass slightly.

Audra knew she shouldn't, she was under age and had never drank before so it would probably knock her on her ass way way too quickly, but it's not like she was going to suddenly black out from one drink and forget the rest of the night, right?

Right?....

"Oh my god, this is like the best cookie i've ever had!" Arthur exclaimed at no one in particular, which was good since it was four in the morning and no one was left standing besides him and his sister.

"No it's not, you're just high as shit." Aurora said, her speech slightly slurred. She stayed away from the dope, but had jumped headlong into the booze.

"Nah, this is just like...."

"Like what?"

Arthur just gave a little chuckle before taking another bite, his sister shaking her head at him before stopping and making a little groaning noise. "Ugh, no shaking, shaking bad." She paused, looking around for a moment. "Hey, have you seen Audra?"

"Huh? Oh, nah, sure she's around here somewhere, hiding probably."

It was even later when Tamara and Jarvis arrived home after getting a call from the cops about a noise disturbance coming from their house. Tamara walked into the torn apart first level of the house and saw the disarray. "Oh god, i hope no one got hurt. Look at the bottles! Jesus Christ!"

"I'm gonna kill 'em." Jarvis said as he walked in after his wife, the woman walking farther into the house, checking to see if anything was missing.

"I cannot believe they would do this! This is just.... I... I have no words!"

"Oh i do. Grounded. For. Life." Jarvis said angrily.

"Oh!" Tamara scoffed angrily as she walked off and picked up a bunch of empty beer bottles. "They're going to school in the morning, i don't care how hungover they are! Is... do I smell pot?"

"I hope they all wake up feeling horrible." Jarvis said with a shake of his head.

In truth, he had no idea how horrible it was going to be for some.

Chapter Notes:

You've probably guessed where this is leading too, but just follow me along the path anyway, because i already have all the pictures for it lol. This chapter was short, but it did what it needed to do, it set up Audra's story arc and the lead in to the fourth generation.

I once again didn't get any party pics, i suck at capping parties, i get side tracked by the shiny. Also, you think i could get that damn parents vacation to happen when i needed it? Nope, nuh-uh. So i built a cellar and locked them in it lol, how very Norman Bates of me, mommy's in the basement sleeping, shhh.

  2. Ouch. Poor Audra. See kids, thats why drinking is bad. I live in a big city and I know four different girls who have been given roofies. Luckily all of them were with people who got them home (or in one case the hospital) safe and sound before something bad happened.

I guess this is going to be a depressing generation? *Sigh* Are you guys seriously trying to make the happiness fairy lose her wings?

  3. I finally got caught up on your blog. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and can't wait to see what's going to happen next!

I really hope Audra has some happiness in her future, she seems to be having quite a hard time of it.
