Chapter Forty-Nine → You cry but you don't tell anyone, that you might not be the golden one. And you're tied together with a smile, but you're coming undone

Prom came and went, Tommy, dateless went with the equally dateless Tyrone. It was purely a platonic thing, although they did win cutest couple, they both had a feeling Trista was in on that little surprise. Her annoying sister plot to hook them up was nearly as annoying as Tommy's instance on practicing the drums first thing in the morning. "You're the one who bought the kit for him." Audra kept reminding her father whenever Jarvis would bitch about being woken up by that 'infernal racket'. Man, he really was old.

Trista on the other hand had been hanging out with the other teen vamps a lot, mostly because she was dating Laquita (was it any wonder i couldn't remember her name?) and she was way into being a vampire, like way into it. But there was something that was grinding at her mind, like something just out of sight. It gave her headaches and Laquita assured her it was probably just her latant vampire powers kicking in, but Trista wasn't as sure. It felt almost like she was in the wrong skin, could sixteen year olds have mid life crisis's? She certainly felt like it, only one thing to do.

It was time for a makeover.

A few less hunks of metal hanging off her face sure, but now her head whistled any time there was a breeze.

Maybe the new look would help with her feeling of unease, doubtful, but what'da ya gonna do?

When she got home she waited for her mother to say something, thinking it would be something less that approving.

"Beautiful." Was all Audra said, Trista grinning.

Jarvis was pulled out of his mourning momentarily to paint what he felt was going to be his last masterpiece. A masterpiece that was too precious to go in any gallery or museum.

No, it was staying somewhere that it would serve a better purpose. Audra accepted the gift from her father happily, but didn't like where his mindset was. Surely he would be around for much longer than her mother had been.

Besides, without him who would sing to the washing machine? It makes the clothes cleaner, really, ask anyone.

Audra was just sitting down to do some work on the computer, when she heard the kids calling her from downstairs. Sigh, one day she would get to start a freaking novel!

Oops, turns out Jarvis was right about that being his last masterpiece. Although Grim's 'sup bitches' could have been saved for another time.

The next morning Audra awoke with a task she truly hated.

Burying her father.

Tommy is tasked with telling the rest of the family, Trista's too distraught.

Later that evening, there's a knock at the door. Audra was surprised to find Patty on the steps, she was Andrew's girlfriend in high school for about a second. "Patty, what are you doing here?" Audra asked, she hadn't seen the woman in over a decade, even though it's a small town. But the redhead knew that was her fault, being a near recluse since high school didn't exactly open many doors to friendships.

"Andrew sent me." The woman said, handing over a small bag

"Why? What... what is this?" Audra asked before she looked into the bag.

"What the hell!?" Audra exclaimed as she saw what was in the small package.

"Andrew said you needed it."

"Where is he?" Audra demanded.

"Jail." Patty said.

"What happened?"

"It was just a party." Patty said with a small shrug. "No one knew Andrew had the knife." Audra looked down into the bag again, seeing the obviously used switch blade laying in it. "I don't know why he stabbed him, but he did." Patty seemed almost in shock as she spoke, like she didn't really know why she was doing what she was doing. "Andrew gave it to me and made me promise to give it to you just as the cops came in." She pause, cringing. "There was so much blood, why did he stab him?" She asked, knowing Audra wouldn't have the answer.

Only thing was, she did, the redhead knew exactly why her brother would do such a thing and before she could stop herself, she opened her mouth and asked the one question she didn't really want to ask. "Who'd he stab?"

"Darryl." Was all Patty said.

It slammed into her mind like an oncoming truck, the party, the drink, the boy....

'"You look like you need to loosen up a bit."

"Why does everyone think that!?"

"Just a little liquid bravery?"'

Without another word to Patty Audra turned and ran into the house, slamming the door behind her in the other woman's face.

Audra ran upstairs, locking herself away from her children lest they see her sob. Tossing the bag with the bloody knife in it, onto her desk, she gripped her hair frantically as all the things that had been locked from her mind for so long rushed back like a wave crashing a shore. Darryl was a ladies man in school, more so than Andrew, he threw parties a lot and always kept the booze flowing. No one knew where he came from or who he was really, but that was part of his charm, his mystery.

She looked up at the mirror, seeing herself. Who would she have been had he not stepped in? Where would life have taken her? How old was Darryl for real? Was he an ancient? How many other girls had be done to them what he had done to her?

She turned and looked up at the picture her father had painted for her, seeing the smiling faces of her children. Her children, they weren't his, they would never be his. She'd make sure of it.

Chapter Notes:
Trista's look is killing me! I'm not happy with how she looks, like at all. She's been my least favorite kid thus far in the legacy, i'm glad she's not my heir, cause i enjoy Tommy so much better. The climatic ending to this rather macabre generation will be happening soon, and in truth, i am glad. After three generations straight of drama, i'm a little drama'ed out. So Tommy's generation will be nothing but rainbows, butterflies and badly timed humor (rainbows and butterflies sold separately). No doubt i will delve back into the dramatics later on down the legacy, but for now, this will be my last sob fueled generation because really, it is kicking my ass! Could also be because my health is deteriorating, which makes me all blah, and being dramatic take energy i just don't have right now.

Also, i loathe and despise the family graveyard, like with a passion, i made it at 5am in like 2 minutes i think. I keep telling myself that i should replace it and make it all nice and stuff, but i know doing that will zap all the family graves back to my sim's family inventory and in some cases back to the other graveyard and i'm just too lazy to have to go on a hunt to re-place every single grave all over again. Blah!! Stupid ghost glitch, why did you have to happen? If the ghosts really did stick to the 11pm -3am schedule they use to, i would have no problem with the urns being on lot, i also wouldn't have had to delete and therefore lose Kinsley, Cherie, Katharine, Michelle and Joanna's ghosts.

  1. Another great chapter as always.

Miss you and love ya. And I love thaat painting, did you use the pose player to get them to stand like that? I really should think about getting it for mine.

I'm worried about your health, and I hope it gets better. We love you.

  2. Yeah i used the pose player and this pose pack - http://mybluebookblog.blogspot.com/2011/05/pose-set-004-mothers-day.html and then had Jarvis 'memorize the scene' on his phone.

I also had to use OMSP to move the teens up about 10 inches since they were too short for the pose, it was for three adults.

I know you're worried honey, i don't mean to worry you or Tash or any one for that matter. I have more tests happening in a month or so, i dunno when. Hopefully there will be answers, cause answers would be good. Also, don't patch your game until Tawllan updates his mods tomorrow or your game will go poof! Just reminding you since you seem to have the most issues with the game lol.

  3. O_O <- My expression when I read about Andrew. I really didn't think he cared that much about Audra. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm sorry to hear your health isn't improving, hopefully things get better soon.

  4. Yeah, I'm waiting to patch and buy town life until Twallan has it all updated. Makes things easier. Your character really don't outlive their spouses by much, do they?

  5. @CD aw come on now, you know i couldn't just have Andrew be a complete asshole to his baby sister for no reason. His little off shoot subplot will all come to a head soon enough.

@Loriann I saw the patch and was like...uh, yeah, no, not until all the mods are updated, i don't feel like going through that hell again lol. And nope, they really really don't. My sims always seem to die first, i'm gonna do my damnedest to make Tommy outlive his, just for the hell of it.
